Prayer Guide

Prayers for Adult Children

You never stop being their mother. A scripture-anchored prayer guide for the season of letting them grow, and continuing to cover them.

Queen, your prayers still move heaven

Praying for adult children looks different than praying for little ones. You can't always reach them with a hug, a meal or a curfew, but you can always reach them in prayer. These prayers are written for the mother who refuses to let go in the Spirit, even when her children are grown.

A Prayer for Protection

Father, surround my child with Your hedge of protection. Guard their going out and their coming in, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Cover them in body, mind and spirit, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Psalm 91:11

A Prayer for Purpose & Direction

Lord, order my child's steps. Make every crooked path straight, open the right doors and close the wrong ones. Help them walk boldly in the calling You placed on their life.

Proverbs 3:5-6

A Prayer for Salvation & Faith

Jesus, draw my child closer to You. Soften their heart, awaken their spirit, and let them know the love of the Father in a personal, undeniable way. Let faith rise where doubt once lived.

2 Peter 3:9

A Prayer for Healthy Relationships

God, surround my child with the right people: friends who sharpen them, mentors who guide them, and a spouse (when the time is right) who honors You. Remove every relationship that does not bear good fruit.

Proverbs 13:20

A Prayer for Healing & Wholeness

Father, heal every wound, seen and unseen. Mend their heart, restore their peace, and renew their mind. Where there has been brokenness, breathe wholeness today.

Psalm 147:3

A Prayer for Provision & Breakthrough

Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh. Provide everything my child needs: peace, finances, opportunity and favor. Let breakthrough come in the areas where they've been waiting the longest.

Philippians 4:19
